So I have been slacking off...sorta

So I realize that it is harder than I thought to write in a blog. No wonder I was never any good at the whole diary thing. I would go months at a time and not write anything at all.
Well I am proud to say however that I have not slacked off on my running. I have slacked off on eating healthy but hey it was the Holidays and it is very hard to eat healthy when everyone is making all this delicious food. Christmas was good. Not what I expected but somehow it never is. I guess always as a child I watched the Christmas movies and saw how those Christmas Days were and I have never had one come close to that. It is fun to spend time with family but I guess I have always been kind of a loner. I was the only child for 13 years and grew up out in the sticks, went to private school, so I was pretty sheltered. Oh well enough grumbling. I did go see Marley and Me. What a cute movie I think I cried for oh an hour. My hubby even shed a tear or two. It was hard to see the dog die and it was very drawn out so you got emotionally involved in the story.

Ok on to running and accomplishments.

Finished week three of running trainning. It was a hard week for little me.
I ran 10 miles over the course of three runs. One 2 mile, one 3 mile and one 5 mile. My best times were in my 3 mile run I ran in 33.25. Not bad for someone who never thought in a million years that she would run. I also finished my 5 miles in 1.03.32. Not bad since I bitched and wined the whole way. Anyways I am going to try to get better at this blogging thing I think it will do me some good. We leave tomorrow for Tampa to see the Gamecocks play. I am excited. GO COCKS!

Yesterday I took my first run on the beach. I ran a slow 2 miles and I sure did hurt after I got done. i have always heard everyone say how hard running on the beach is I guess you can't really understand what that means until you try it. On to work now. I am to run 3 miles tommorrow. Fun

Signed up for my first 10 K

I signed up for my first 10k this weekend and I am really excited. I have always wanted to walk the Copper River Bridge Run and never once thought I would sign up to actually run it. I began running in April ran one 5k over the Summer and gave up running/exercising again. I saw the results that I wanted to see and became lazy and quit.
I just started running again off and on over the last two months and decided to give myself a challenge. I ran a 5k about a week ago with little to no training and was not to impressed with my time. SHAREN 25 F COLUMBIA SC 35:11 11:20

I thought signing up for the 5k would get me back into this thing I never thought I would do...running...and it worked.

I have successfully completed a week of real training not just running around the block and I am very excited to see what happens next. I made a complete training schedule that I worked on for almost 2 hours and I am excited to see the next 16 weeks come. I will by the end of my training be running 10 miles in one setting. The longest I have EVER ran was 5 miles and that was on a whim.

So here is to new beginnings, getting into shape, kicking a 10K's ass, and starting the new year off with a bang.
